Ahhhhhhhhh... what a day! Along with a couple workmates, I rode down to Anacortes and back today, all on backroads and rural highways with only a few exceptions. The sun shone all day, temperatures up to 23C... it was fantastic! This is a shot from a quick stop in Washington State Park just west of the Anacortes ferry terminal. The "loop" road around the Park was quite interesting... it was more like riding on a sidewalk through the Park! We also did Chuckanut Drive on the way down, had lunch at "The Drift" in Anacortes (highly recommended!), and a super milkshake at "Hal's Drive-in" in Sedro-Woolley. The only "Oh crap!" moment came just 6 miles southeast of the Sumas border crossing on the way home when I ran out of a corner and nearly got up close and personal with the concrete barrier on the far side of the road... likely due to a front tire that needs replacing and a little bit of dirt on the road... luckily it was only a 25-mph corner... and I was only doing 25-mph! All in all, though, it was the kind of day they invented motorcycles for!
Moving Forward, Faster All The Time
It's just a line from a song... but I can't remember the song!

Walking with Sister and her Camera, Part 3...
Foliage... forest... fungi... feline... needless to say, things were pretty relaxed when we got back to G and G's!
Walking with Sister and her Camera, Part 2...
Man's (and woman's) best friend... aka "Cricket"... showing us the way on the trail, posing shamelessly, and then crashing after running about 3 times as far as we walked in the same amount of time!
Walking with Sister and her Camera, Part 1...
A unique sight for daytime walking... a Barred Owl sitting in the tree about 10m over our heads... totally non-plussed by 4 walkers, a dog, and several mountain bikers passing by!
