And finally, the sunset...

The sun pours out of the clouds like molten lava to end the day on Sunday February 26, 2012.

Storm's a' comin'...

It only took about 30 minutes for this monster stormcloud to make it across the Valley and proceed to unload its cargo of snow on the mountains, after which the skies cleared and we were back to blue sky late on Sunday afternoon, February 26, 2012.

Sunset on the Mountain...

The evening sun catches the face of Mt Judge Howay, which sits about 10km north of Stave Lake, in the top 3 photos.  At the bottom, Mt Robie Reid in Golden Ears Provincial Park emerges from the clouds that had just dumped a fresh batch of snow on Sunday February 26, 2012.

Sunny Sunday Wildlife...

Not out of the woods yet...

As you can see from the photos, it's not all sunshine and roses just yet... despite some nice, sunny, warm weather of late, all it takes is one or two days down near freezing and the spectre of winter raises its ugly head!

A little bit of everything, Part III...

Two big panoramas showcasing the two faces of the afternoon and evening... a huge bank of clouds pushed through around 4pm, bringing the rain you saw in the photos below... and when it all cleared, we had a lovely sunset with blues and pastels... quite a feast for the eyes all afternoon!

A little bit of everything, Part II...

Once the rain stopped and the wind died down, the sunset got back to business and came up with some gorgeous blues and lovely pastels... I particularly like the pattern that formed in the clouds in the bottom shot... can you see the flying fish?

A little bit of everything, Part I...

We had everything but hail and snow today... sun, clouds, wind, rain...  the shots are all of the raindrops on the kitchen windows as the wind blew the rain sideways into the house.  The bottom shot is taken through the screen on the kitchen window.

Valentine's Day Revisited, Part II...

A couple of stitch shots of the sunset on Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day Revisited, Part I...

It's been a busy week, so time for a bit of catch-up... here are four shots of the sunset sequence from Valentine's Day, February 14, 2012.  A beautiful end to a lovely day dedicated to romance and getting your new truck detailed... I know, I know, I'm a hopeless romantic!

Cuteness continues...

Our newest addition Olive (if you don't count the 4Runner!) continues to be a super choice... cute, friendly, cuddly, and listens to most instructions... now, if only we could get that in our kids!

Boiling hot... well, not really...

Don't be fooled by the "blazing" nature of the sunset today, February 13, 2012... despite the "heat" in the photos, it was actually a cool day today... mild breeze, blue skies, puffy clouds, and sunshine... all in all, not a bad effort!

Thinking of my grandfathers...

Some pictures of the beginning and the end of the day on February 6, 2012... Orion's Belt shines brightly in the top photo, taken about 2am.  The lights on the north side of the Fraser River, from Mission to Grouse Mountain, shine brightly as well.  The bottom photo captures the sunset at the end of a beautiful Winter's day.  One of my grandfathers was born on February 7, and my other grandfather died on February 7... an odd synchronicity, no?

The new(ish) ride...

Well, after much deliberation, we upgraded our 4x4 into the 21st century on February 4, 2012... circa 2003... with a lovely, blue Toyota 4Runner Limited... very plush, with all the bells and whistles... now, to see if there's anyone out there who wants to buy our well-loved 1994-vintage Trooper!

Bowled over by a Super sunset...

I managed to get quite a few shots of the sunset yesterday, February 5, 2012. It was a much more productive use of my time than watching another Super Bowl where the team I am rooting for loses!

600

Well, it only seems fitting that the 600th post on my blog feature a sunset!  We are on Day 1 of a projected long streak of sunshine, rare for this time of year, but very welcome  The top photo is just an example of what a great photographic resource a dirty window can be.  Sunset is already back to 5pm or so, and getting later every day.

Yes, I is cute...
