So, this piece of automotive paraphernalia is called a "rectifier". I believe they call it that because when it is toast, your motorcycle is "rect". And the reason it is "rect" is that, apparently, your ground wire, the black one, is supposed to actually be connected to something. Who knew? Those bloody electricians! What do you need all those wires for anyway?
My "classic" m/c has been out of action for two weeks now while efforts are made to locate a replacement rectifier. For some unknown reason, they are hard to find for 25-year old m/c's?
So, of course, if your m/c is not actually running, you cannot take advantage of the wonderful weather conditions captured in the above photograph. Said weather conditions have been existing for the last week, of course, and will promptly end the day after the elusive rectifier is found and the m/c is returned to running condition!
Thus, the driveway looks like the above photo, instead of having a sparkling-with-water-from-its-wash m/c sitting on it!
