So long, it's been good to know you...

So, after nearly 12 years! and 255,000 kilometers, it was time to say "Goodbye" to our faithful 1996 Volkswagen Jetta... and its shaky $5,000 to repair transmission, and its broken $500 passenger window motor, and its burned-out $500 to replace dash light, and its horribly underpowered engine, and... oh, heck, who am I kidding! To be fair, it did serve us well in that it never needed major repairs, but from the nickel and dime factor, it was always a pain in the a**!

It has been replaced by a 2008 Honda Civic for two main reasons:

1. Honda's reputation for reliability

2. 50 miles per gallon, as we will be paying $1.30/liter this summer!

It is kind of sad, as I was positive that at this point in my life, there would be something with a V8 in my garage, or at least a V6 with 200+ horsepower... sigh... at least it is only a couple of months until motorcycle weather returns!
