Summer Leftovers
Sharp eyes will spot the hot air balloon, floating in front of one of the final sunsets of the summer.
With the usual terrifying speed, night takes over from day earlier each evening.
The sky appears to be on fire just after the sun disappears below the horizon.
Blazing red at the horizon, but still faded blue up above.
The sun sets with nuclear intensity as it disappears into the West.

These are several sunset shots taken over the final few days of summer. The magic of the digital camera is that you can take hundreds of shots throughout the sunset... the hard part is picking out the subtle differences between the shots!
These are all taken with K's new Nikon S600 on "Sunset" setting... the camera "emphasizes" the warm reds, oranges and yellows while maintaining the other colours. There is no Photoshop trickery here... the camera does an excellent job of capturing what the eye sees!
