We rode out of Sumas, WA in low cloud and fog and 17C on September 14, 2013, heading to the top of Mt Baker hoping the weatherman was right! Halfway there, we rode out of the fogbank into blazing sun, and by the time we got to the top, it was 27C and spectacular! I have never seen so many people up at Artist's Point! And there was not a flake of snow to be found. When we rode up on August 31, 2012, there was still a huge amount of snow left (check the September 4, 2012 blog entry). After summiting, we rode back down just south of Acme, WA to a great restaurant called the Blue Mountain Inn. It has its own awesome view of a pair of peaks called The Twins, and if you're lucky, you can just see Mt Baker peeking out from around the back side.
Not a flake!
