This is how we absolutely know winter is over. The first visitor appeared on the 26th, bringing another male and a female with him. Sadly, it only took our grey-haired H-killer Squiggles 2 days to liquidate the female. Hopefully, the boys have some other little ladies they can entice to our feeder (and educate about Squiggles).

Now this we haven't seen before! K looked out the window and noticed that the neighbours at the bottom of the hill appeared to have two new weird-looking dogs... not!

It looks like Momma Deer and last year's baby decided to do a little grazing before being scared off by the trampling of 12-year old feet coming down the hill to get a closer look!
