E for Emil
A few more pictures from our wonderful day out at FHC at Paine Field. This is the ME109 flying in the brilliant sunshine, and then getting fueled up (very carefully, by hand) after its performance. It was interesting to hear that the 109 was being flown by Canadian Bud Granley, famous for his many performances over the years at the Abbotsford Air Show. It was also interesting to learn that the fuel tank sits directly underneath the pilot's seat... must have given the Luftwaffe pilots something to think about when the bullets were flying at them!
