This is... nearly... the end
So, with the promise of golden sunshine and temperatures in the mid-teens, me and BooBoo threw on the gear and headed out for one last glorious ride to cap off a great riding season. Fifteen minutes later, when my dash readout was showing 0C and the fog was so thick it was like riding through a wet, grey blanket, I really started to have my doubts! However, after an absolutely fantastic breakfast at the Acme Diner in Acme, Wa, we were on our way under sunny (and much warmer) skies. We rode 400 kms via Sumas, Sedro-Woolley, Darrington, Arlington, Anacortes, Bellingham and home through Sumas. The temperature topped out at about 12C, but with our cold weather gear on we were just fine. We got some great GoPro footage, saw some truly beautiful scenery, the bikes ran tickety-boo, I passed 70,000 kms on the old girl... all in all, another day that just goes to show that touring on two wheels with a good friend is just so much better than being stuck in a car! The shot above is the looking due west toward the San Juan Islands from one of the viewpoints on Chuckanut Drive, a must-ride for any motorcyclist (and photographer!).
