Inaugural Run
It was a perfect day for the "official" kickoff to the 2014 riding season on Sunday April 13, 2014. We've had a couple informal rides already, but this was the first ride involving any level of planning (minimal planning that it was!). It was a good chance to see some faces we hadn't seen in a while, meet some new ones, and generally have fun on two wheels in the sunshine! The shot above is taken at a top-secret location in Washington State that I will only reveal to my close, inner circle. As you can see, traffic is not too much of an issue, as we seem quite comfortable lounging directly on the roadway!
The wide array of bikes gives you some idea of how all-inclusive we are. We don't even have a name for our "gang", let alone any rules! Well, "No maniacs", but that really goes without saying!
The weather was sunny and the temps hit 19C at the high point, averaging 17C for the bulk of the ride. It got a bit cool along the water on Chuckanut Drive, but the rest of the ride was golden!
The Beast! S's upgraded BMW K1300R, freshly kitted out with new exhaust, carbon fiber wheels, carbon fiber accents, and a Power Commander taking it from the 172-hp weakling it was to a 200-hp monster! Let's just say that we saw a lot of S's back during the ride!
The hardware lined up in the sunshine at one of the view points on Chuckanut Drive.
