South Skagit Sunshine Spectacular
What a day! It was such a great day, "large" isn't enough for the photos - I had to "extra-large" them!
For a motorcyclist, it doesn't get much better than it was on June 7, 2014! We rode south to Sedro-Woolley, then east on the South Skagit Highway to our fave restaurant in Concrete (Annie's Pizza Station - go there!) for lunch. On the way back, we finally made it to Hal's Drive-In in Sedro-Woolley for mammoth milkshakes (black raspberry, trust me!).
The weather was amazing... 20C, sunny with puffy white clouds, and traffic was almost non-existent.
The shot above is a Go-Pro capture from the suction cup mount stuck to K's seat cowl. The forced perspective doesn't really show the true facts - I am only about 6' off her beam in this photo, and we're not going 50 km/h! Luckily, she rode it like it was on a rail, and we got some good footage.
We took the backwoods backroads all the way home, arriving way behind schedule for the first time ever (2 hours late getting home, we had so much fun!).
And for anyone considering a Nexus card - DO IT! I have saved over 2 hours in border lineups in the first 7 uses.
