From "War of the Worlds" to "Sunset Nukes"

If you've ever seen "War of the Worlds" or "Independence Day", you'll recall that the aliens created huge cloud banks to camouflage their ships.

And if you're a fan of any movie that ever had a nuclear device explode in it, you will recall that the explosion always happens in slow-motion, with a slow blossoming of orange fire at the site of the explosion, followed quickly by the nuclear "bloom".

Of course, it also helps to have an active imagination! The sunbeams through the clouds are from last Friday evening, and the spectacular sunset signals the end of Canada Day yesterday.

Happy 140th Birthday, Canada!

John
