... and so the sun set on a long, long day.

So, right at the point where the numbness, both mental and physical, had become total and we were at the point where we were both thinking "Was this all worth it?", I looked out the great room window and saw what is in the photo above. We all stood at the window and watched for 10 minutes as the day ended in a flaming red sky. After a sodden, gray day, it was a wonderful finish to an exhausting day.

In alphabetical order, we could not have done it without the help of these wonderful friends:

Alex, Carrie, Dave, Karen B, Karen K, Kevin, Monty, Paul, Rob, Sarah, Susan and Warren.

Considering we put Paul (back), Karen B (back), Warren (back), Alex (whole body) and me (hip) nearly out of commission, plus all the untold aches and pains that go along with moving a whole house from A to B, it will take us a while to pay you guys back for this one!

After everyone collapsed in bed at 10:30, I went downstairs to the media room and turned on the TV just in time to watch the Canucks pull out another overtime victory (it looked and sounded great!).

Finally, about midnight, I went to bed. After living near Highway 1 and the Airport for 8 years, and on a busy street to boot, it was the strangest thing to lie in bed last night and listen to complete silence!

Day 1 complete!

John
