Road Trip, Day 6, Part 1, Diamondhead

Day 6 was so full of action, I've had to break it into several Parts to get it all in! It started with an early morning hike up Diamondhead, moved on to an afternoon of bodysurfing at Waimea, and ended with shave ice, turtles, and an amazing sunset at Kaena Pt.
Just before 8am, looking east toward Maui and Molokai, as the sun rises. The hump on the water in the center is the crater surrounding Hanauma Bay. Diamondhead is about 600' to the top, which doesn't sound too bad, until you factor in heat, humidity, and two sets of really nasty stairs!
C making her way through the tunnel carved out of the rock, on our way up to the top of Diamondhead.
What it's all about - an unimpeded, spectacular view of Waikiki and Honolulu in the distance. We have managed to beat the sun to the top, as you can just see the first rays of the sun hitting the buildings in Honolulu. The large green space in the center left is Queen Kapiolani Park. The Honolulu Zoo is at the top right of the green space, with the large white building in it's center.
What you are looking at from the observation point at the peak of Diamondhead. Note: You can't actually see Mexico City, LA, Australia or Tahiti from the observation point!
Looking down from the top of Diamondhead to the shoreline and points south. It's pretty much a straight run to Antarctica from here. This is where we will be buying our home when we win the Lotto Max!
