Fraser Valley Toy Run

Sunday October 19, 2014... time for the Fraser Valley Toy Run.  After the weather did a nice about-face and turned in our favour,  nearly 900 bikers hit the road to raise money and donate toys to the Christmas Bureau to help ensure a Merry Christmas for many underprivileged kids across the Lower Mainland.  It is a worthy cause that brings together bikers of every stripe, and today was no exception.  This year, I left from Mission for the first time, avoiding the pell-mell mayhem on Hwy 1 for the  Chilliwack participants... and what a pleasant change that was!  The photos are all screen captures from the GoPro... not too bad, actually!

The former Liquidation World parking lot in Mission... starting point for 490 of the 850+ bikes.

Owning the Abbotsford-Mission Bridge.

Through the streets of Abbotsford, with a long line of headlights behind me.

The beautiful day lights up the green fields in rural Abbotsford.

Just like the long line of headlights behind me, there was a long line of taillights in front of me!

Arrival at Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford.  Superb traffic control, experienced and intelligent bikers, and it all went off without a hitch, as usual!  My wingman, D, on his trusty Gold Wing, was the only companion I could scare up today (oh, those fair weather bikers!).
