Day 6 & 7 - Cloudy Days, Grey Seas

Day 6 featured constant cloud cover and frequent rain, and literally no photo opportunities (unless you count a rectangle of grey as a photo). We spent the day inside the Observation Lounge in the bow watching the grey seas and whitecaps while we read, napped and relaxed. Day 7 dawned slightly brighter, but the most colourful part of the morning was still the huge stained glass window above the Seven Seas cafe.
By the middle of Day 7, the skies had risen enough to actually see horizon. You are looking due West off the stern in this photo... next stop, Japan, if you go that way! This stretch of open water was the roughest part of the trip... but only rough enough to make you laugh about how you were walking on the deck... like a drunken sailor!
In the afternoon, the clouds had thinned enough to at least let the sun put some colour into the scenery. This is the shoreline of one of the many small islands we sailed very, very close to as we approached the coast of BC again.
As we neared the entrance to the Inside Passage, we passed this island to starboard. For some reason, the name "Skull Island" popped into my mind. Can you see why from the photo?
It's now late afternoon (it seemed like dusk), and we are just reentering the Inside Passage for the slow, careful run through the many, many Gulf Islands that make up the Passage. Sadly, one more sleep and home!
