Wow, 1000 is a lot!
So, as you might have guessed from the previous post (apologies for the long delay between then and now...), we went on an Alaskan cruise in early May. Although the weather was mediocre overall (oh, had we but waited two weeks!), the experience was wonderful. We took over 1,000 photos in total, and I have finally worked my way through all of them. I will post some from each of the 7 days over the next 7 blogs.
Above is our ship, the Norwegian Sun... 900' long, 105' wide, 1800 passengers and 900 crew. We sailed at 5:30pm on Sunday May 10th into the gathering clouds, after a sunny warm day.
At the stern, with Stanley Park in the background. Vancouver truly does have one of the most beautiful harbours in the world, with incredible scenery all around.
The sails of Canada Place in the foreground and the "tower forest" of downtown Vancouver in the background. You can just see the new Convention Center to the right of the sails.
We haven't even set sail yet, and I am exhausted from the effort of being on vacation!

The last sparkle of sunlight on the water as we pass out under the Lion's Gate Bridge into the Straight of Georgia. More pics from day 2 in the next post!
Day 1 dinner: The "Four Seasons" cafe, one of two main dining rooms.
