Road Trip, Oregon and back, Day 4
Day 4 had us heading south from Pacific City to Waldport, but sort of the long way around. We rode south through Lincoln City, then cut inland on some more lovely backroads. A fluke question at a gas station pee-break helped us avoid several miles of gravel road and free range cattle on one of our planned back roads, so we adapted and overcame. We had lunch in Philomath at a restaurant known for their gluten-free menu, and the food was super! From there, we headed back south and west to Waldport and the Cliff House B&B... which was... wait for it... a house on a cliff that was a B&B! Our wonderfully eccentric hostess welcomed us, gave us an excellent local primer, and after a nice long walk on the jellyfish-littered beach, we ended up at another wonderful restaurant, the Hilltop Café. Although cloudy and cool, we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Waldport, and we would absolutely stay in the Cliff House again!
