Road Trip, Oregon and back, Day 3

Leaving Klipsan Cottages on Day 3 (but we'll be back - they were great!).  Day 3 was zig-zag day.  We headed south, across the Columbia, through Astoria, and then up into the hills, taking wonderful backroads like Rte 202 and Hwy 6, with a zippy stretch on Hwy 26 to join the two backroads sections.

The 5-mile long Astoria-Megler bridge, from the WA side, heading to the OR side!

Cooling our jets, and watering up at the Tillamook Forest Center.  This was probably one of the hottest afternoons on our whole trip, sitting in the high 20s in the parking lot here.

Did someone say "Cheese"?  The Tillamook Cheese Factory, where lunch consisted of... wait for it!... cheese! And ice cream!  It was awesome!  Until K's bike didn't start for the first time...  but we bump-started it and headed south to Pacific City for the night.

That's K standing at the end of the runway in Pacific City, OR... where planes barely clear the road by 20'!  Below, she hits the beach for the mile walk to the Pelican Pub and Brewery (where the food was awesome!).

This was my dinner - Pacific City Cioppino - and it was SPECTACULAR!  K is drinking a real "local" ale (Tsunami) and I'm drinking house-made root beer - both fantastic!

Sunset lands on Haystack Rock (one of 3 in Oregon, according to our waitress)...

Every house along the beach has a million dollar view...  but they don't cost a million dollars!

That's right!  On the way back, I saw two deer and one cat, grazing on the runway built in the middle of town!  Below, three shots from letting the GoPro run on timed shots while we rode during the day... all I got was a lot of road!
