Hmmmm... do you think this child is excited about going to Hawaii? We were up and at 'em at 0530 PDT, at the airport at 0700, and airborne at 0900... with good news right off the bat - no headwinds, so the planned 6h10m flight would only be 5h20m! A great way to start!
Heading out over the Pacific Ocean about a 1/2 hr into the flight. What you see below is the coastline of Oregon, and a big, soft, pillowy blanket of clouds over the ocean. The clouds broke up about 2 hours out to sea, with only a few pockets all the way to Hawaii.
"What the... !!!!!" Oh, wait, the kids have the camera, don't they? There were some creative shots taken while we were in the air (many involving an inverted camera!).
Oh, baby, here it comes! Look at the blue sky, the greenery, and look at the colour of that water! On the approach into Honolulu International Airport at 1120 hrs, local time. One of the best things about flying into Hawaii is the view on approach!
Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Landed, got the rental car, hit Costco for supplies for the condo and beach, to the condo, unloaded, met up with my sister, and then spent the afternoon at the beach. This is father and son discussing how much better this is than the bathtub at home!
