Tonight on National Geographic... "We observed quietly as the mother and baby frolicked in the surf. The golden sand and clear waters afforded us a rare view of the family in the wild. The mother never strayed far from her young one, keeping a careful eye out for predators and little sisters."
Meanwhile, the little sister had problems of her own to deal with. A soft patch in the sand had trapped her up to the armpits, and she could only watch helplessly as her mother and brother played in the surf, unaware of the plight of the youngest family member.

Nature completed a busy day, swallowing a final surfer at sunset. Tune in again for more of Nature and its best... and worst!
