Airshow 1 - T33 "Acemaker"
Day 2 found us up and riding south from Kelso in the already hot morning sun toward the Oregon International Airshow at the Hillsboro Airport. By mid-day, it was over 100F on the grass. Although very sparse on the static displays, the air was filled with great displays by a wide variety of performers. One of the best shows was put on by the T-33 "Acemaker". The T-33 was as a 2-seat trainer version of the original P-80 Shooting Star. The pilot certainly didn't fly this one like it was a 60+ year old priceless airplane- he put his foot down and screamed through all the maneuvers!
