If it's Friday, that must be Greenland!

Friday, July 2nd... about 7pm PDT... I say the words I never thought I'd say... "Hey, look, that's Greenland down there!" It's hard to see with the glare and the haze, but we are passing over Godtheb, Greenland... go ahead and look it up, it's really a city in Greenland!
An English sunset... Saturday night July 3rd... we left Vancouver at 2pm PDT and 9 hours later landed in London, England at 7:25am GMT... if you do the math, it means we missed a night's sleep. By the time I collapsed on the bed at 9pm Saturday night, it had been a 30-hour effort!
On our first walking tour of London, during which I misread the map and took us North instead of South for a couple of kilometers (honest mistake... they don't put the maps up in London with North at the top like us civilized North Americans do!), we came upon this large stone trough on the sidewalk. This is the sign on the end of it.
London is such an old city, it still has dinosaurs. We came upon this pterodactyl eating a baby brontosaurus near the Thames River.
This is NOT where we are staying. The prices of many things, including hotel rooms at famous hotels, are enough to leave you gasping for breath. Tea at the Ritz is about $120 per couple!
All in all, a fabulous start to a dream vacation!
